Sciatica

An injury involving the low back and/or hip regions, sciatica is one of the major reasons patients seek acupuncture care. Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve has been impinged, which can cause numbness, tingling, pain or weakness in the lower limbs. The symptoms of sciatica can also be felt in the hips and gluteal areas. Acupuncture is effective at reducing the pain, decreasing muscular tension and improving blood flow in the affected areas.
